For NEET Biology, more study material is not always the answer. A better system is to understand what you are studying, recall it, test it and correct your mistakes.
Step 1: Start with a complete first reading
Do not try to memorise every line during the first pass. Understand the chapter structure first: concepts, processes, examples, diagrams and important comparisons.
Step 2: Read line by line, but selectively mark
Highlighting an entire page defeats the purpose of highlighting. Mark information that is difficult to recall or particularly important for revision.
Step 3: Convert reading into recall
After a section, close the book. Try to reproduce the key information without looking. This exposes gaps that passive reading hides.
Step 4: Connect NCERT with questions
After studying a topic, solve relevant MCQs and PYQs. Questions show you which parts of the chapter you actually know under exam conditions.
Step 5: Build a revision list
Your second and third revisions should not feel like your first reading. By then you should know your weak areas.
Step 6: Test yourself regularly
A chapter is not finished simply because you have read its last page.
